CONFIGURATION DECISION
Compact Footprint Configuration Guide
Choose the cooling and enclosure arrangement together. Reducing external dimensions without preserving air paths and service access can increase temperature rise and maintenance time.
| Configuration | Specification | Impact And Tradeoff | Best Fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Open-Frame AN | Natural-Air Cooling, No Outer Enclosure | Lowest auxiliary power and fewest moving parts. Requires a clean indoor room and more open air clearance. | Dedicated electrical rooms with stable ventilation. |
| Enclosed AN | Natural-Air Cooling With Louvered Protective Enclosure | Improves touch and dust protection. The enclosure increases airflow resistance and can enlarge the required footprint. | Commercial or industrial rooms needing guarded live parts. |
| Enclosed AF | Forced-Air Cooling With Fans, Controller And Alarm Contacts | Supports higher kVA density in restricted space. Adds fan noise, auxiliary power and maintenance dependence. | Containerized systems or rooms with tight footprint limits. |

APPLICATIONS & EQUIPMENT
Where The Compact Arrangement Adds Value
Select the configuration from the load, grounding, environmental and service-access requirements at the installation point.
Industrial Control And Automation
Use between the plant supply and VFD, PLC, test bench or control loads when galvanic isolation and a project-specific voltage ratio are required.
Commercial Power And UPS Rooms
Configure the transformer for UPS input or output distribution, sensitive electronic loads and the building grounding scheme; select an enclosure to match the room environment.
Containerized And OEM Power Systems
Specify the footprint, terminal direction, cooling path and lifting points for skids, modular substations and equipment packages with restricted access.
MATERIALS & PROCESS
Build The Insulation And Cooling Path As One System
Material batches, coil processing and curing parameters remain traceable through assembly and routine testing.
Core And Windings
Copper conductors, cast-resin insulation and a grain-oriented silicon-steel core.
Manufacturing Process
Core cutting and stacking, coil winding, vacuum resin casting, controlled curing, final assembly and routine electrical testing.
Frame And Enclosure
Powder-coated steel clamps and base with an optional powder-coated protective enclosure.
PERFORMANCE & WORKING CONDITIONS
Set The Rating Against The Real Installation
Capacity and voltage are selected together with cooling, enclosure, altitude, ambient temperature, harmonic duty and available airflow.
CUSTOMIZATION
Match The Transformer To The Available Space And Duty
Freeze the electrical, mechanical and document interfaces before production to protect fit, temperature rise and delivery timing.

USE & SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Install, Energize And Maintain The Unit Safely
Use the approved project drawing, nameplate, protection schedule and supplied manual as the controlling documents for the delivered unit.
Receiving And Storage
Inspect the enclosure, windings, terminals, accessories and documents for transport damage or moisture. Store indoors on a level base and keep the unit dry until installation.
Installation And Earthing
Keep ventilation paths open, secure the base, connect terminals to the approved diagram and bond the core, frame, enclosure, fans and controller to protective earth before energizing.
Commissioning And Operation
Verify tap position, phase sequence, insulation, protection settings, fan direction and temperature alarms. Energize unloaded first, then increase load while monitoring sound, current and temperature.
Inspection And Maintenance
Isolate and lock out the transformer before work. Remove dust from windings and air ducts, tighten accessible connections, inspect fans and sensors, and record insulation and temperature trends at least annually.
